Mother freed in heiress death

Mrs. Gertrude Silver, center, head bowed and clutching a handkerchief, is led down a courtroom corridor today after she was given a suspended sentence in the abortion death of her daughter, 22-year-old food chain heiress, Doris Jean Ostreicher. A man and his wife, charged with actually performing the abortion, drew prison terms.
