Mother doubts son's confession

Mrs. Lorna Elms, 34, is shown with her son, Charles, 17, after she heard him confess to the stabbing death of a young woman in Lancaster Oct. 6. Mrs. Elms refused absolutely to believe it, saying, "I'll get it out of him -- I'll get the truth yet -- I know he's not guilty." The youth was charged with murder today in a complaint filed by deputy district attorney George Bagley. He will be arraigned in two days before Lancaster's Municipal Judge Albert McCourtney.
