Nursery in flood time was Classical High School in Springfield, which houses scores of children as can be seen from these tightly packed rows of cribs that were rushed into service when families were driven from their homes. A tiny refugee, ill, perhaps from a sudden change of home, is shown being cared for by a doctor. This picture is the first from Springfield to reach any outside city.
