“Operation Minuteman,” the nationwide test alert of the Army and Air National Guard was touched off by Major General Edgar C. Erickson, chief of the National Guard Bureau, who is shown here advising the chiefs of The Army and Air Force Divisions of the Bureau, (Major General William H. Abendroth, U.S. Army, and Brigadier General Winston P. Wilson, U.S. Air Force) that word has been flashed to the States and territories alerting more than 350,000 members of Army and Air National Guard Units.
