“Operation Ice Box”--The Cardinal-Inks super markets here promised 1,000 Thanksgiving turkeys to citizens for old ice boxes or ice box doors. The offer was made because so many small children had died when trapped in old ice boxes throughout the nation this year. The operation turned into an avalanche and had to be called off after two hours. In that time 4,000 turkeys had been given away and company trucks are still hauling in boxes and doors.
