Patricia Doherty leaves with police after she telephoned them and declared "My husband threatened to kill our daughter. I went into the bedroom and got a rifle and came out and shot him. You'd better send a homicide detective and an ambulance." Police arrived to find Robert Doherty, 29, shot eight times in the neck. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
