Ernest B. Knight 44-year-old engineer who has the reputation of being a "model citizen" gazes with one unshinered eye at Deputy Rollo Hall as the latter examines the gun found in his home after Knight's arrest on an attempted holdup charge. At right is pretty Rose Hodel, one of the two North central College students, victims of the alleged holdup attempt in a lover's lane near Naperville. She and Dwight Freshley resisted the attempt. A battle ensued and was ended when Miss Hodel belted the holdup man on the head with a bottle of cleaning fluid. Knight, who has an annual income of $5,400, reportedly told the gendarmes that this was his first venture into crime.
