O’Malley’s Sports Stadium in Chavez Ravine--A workman hangs onto a line as he works at hard-surfacing a hillside in Walter O’Malley’s ball park, now in the process of construction in famed Chavez Ravine in Los Angeles. At the moment, it bears a striking resemblance to the Roman Emperor Vespasian’s historic Colosseum in Rome. But when the 1962 baseball season rolls around, the fans will occupy seats in the area at left. Home plate will be at about the right center spot in the picture.
