Olga Canini, 22 bursts into tears as her former lover, Pietro Rossi (L), calmly studies his fingernails, 6/11. Olga is on trial for shooting and wounding Rossi in 1957. Rossi, a student, allegedly fathered Miss Canini's child in 1956, and promised to marry her "as soon as he completed his studies." The pledge was signed before a notary public. When Olga's child died after living only three months, Rossi allegedly abandoned her.
