Oldest Legionnaire sees the "sights" of New York

J.E. Newcomb of Quincy, Illinois, 86-year-old Legionnaire and one of the oldest known World War I veterans, takes time out from his tour of New York City to watch Mrs. Catherine A. Corrado display her lovely form. Legionnaire Newcomb is here to attend the national convention of the American Legion which starts tomorrow. Mrs. Corrado hails from Woodside, Queens, and won the title of "Mrs. Long Island." She will represent Long Island in the 9th annual "Mrs. America" contest at Palisades Park, New Jersey, on September 3rd, 4th and 5th.
