Former players posed on the field including, A.G. Spalding, 6th from left in front row, pitched for Boston in the 1870s and later formed the Spalding Co. that manufactured and sold sporting goods, Fred W. Thayer, 12th from the left in the front row, invented the catcher's mask as the team trainer for Harvard in the 1870s, and James Tyng, 8th from the left in the front row, former Harvard catcher, who was the first player to wear the mask in a game.
