New York- Members of the Transport Workers Union (TWU) cast unanimous vote to strike on 1/1/64 during meeting at Manhattan Center here 12/29. The threatened strike would shut down bus and subway service for the first time in New York City history. The union is seeking a 32-hour, four-day work week and 15 per cent pay increase for it's 28,000 Transit Authority (TA) workers.
