New York City's Ptl. John Bal ('70 photo), who gained national attention last summer because his non-regulation length hair almost caused his superiors to flip their wigs, is undergoing department hearings at police headquarters 10/9 on several complaints against him. The 24-year-old ex-Marine, at hearing 10/8, denied charges he called a sergeant a liar. Twenty-two specific complaints have been lodged against Bal, according to his attorney Ronald Gene Wohl.
