New York – Racial Disorder In New York – New York City policemen hold back a group of white youths in the Bronx last night as they push their way toward pickets from the Congress of Racial Equality. A group of CORE pickets demonstrating in front of a diner was jeered, threatened and jostled by a large gathering of whites, most of them teenagers. The demonstration was staged to encourage the hiring of more Negroes in the diner chain. Two white youths were arrested.
