New York – Picket Lifted From Hospital Site – A woman picket, representing the Congress of racial Equality (CORE), is lifted by police at hospital construction site in New York’s borough of Brooklyn today. Police arrested three Negroes during disorders involving civil rights picketing at the site where a 350-bed, eight-story hospital is being built as part of the Downstate Medical Center.
