New Navy Football Coach? -- This is Doug Scovil, coach of the Navy quarterbacks, who has been mentioned as a possible successor to head coach Wayne Hardin. The Associated Press learned reliably that Hardin was told last Monday that he was being fired and would be replaced by Scovil. The athletic control board meets today to consider coaching contracts, and Hardin's future at the academy may be decided then.
