New Light Weight 'Lung' Put Into Use- First Lt. William H. Owen, 1544 Vinewood street, Detroit, is leaded into a military transport plane here today in a new type light weight portable artificial lung. a polio victim, he is en route to Ann Arbor, Mich., for further treatment after early care at Walter Reed hospital here. The new lung weighs 150 pounds compared with 1800 pounds of the standard iron lung. It is made of aluminum alloy and plastics.
