New Life Raft Developed--A new air-sea rescue life raft developed here by Douglas Aircraft company begins to take shape under inflation of carbon-dioxide. The torpedo-shaped cylinder which contained the raft acts as a steadying keel. Lower picture shows raft, which contains supplies to last eight occupants for five days, being propelled by four-cylinder inboard engine. Raft can travel 300 miles, says Douglas.
