New Jersey Dairyman Face Great Loss As Drought Persists. New Jersey -- Thomas C. Sanderson, a director of the Sussex Cooperative Milk Producers Association, and a dairy farmer of Vernon Township in New Jersey, is pictured yesterday as he gave water brought from a well to his cows. The scene is typical of many throughout Sussex and Morris Counties where dairy farmers are facing a great economic loss because of the drought that has gripped the area. A survey has shown that conditions have become more serious with fodder and water for cows growing low, resulting in the reduction of produce. It is expected that the prices of dairy products as well as all the other produce of the area will go up in view of the drought.
