New Cardinal Combination Blasts Giants-- Don Blasingame (left) rookie second baseman of the St. Louis Cardinals, and shortstop Alvin Dark, veteran star obtained from the New York Giants in a recent trade, shake hands before today’s game in which they blistered the Giants for five more hits, leading the Redbirds to a three-game series sweep. Dark batted .818 and drove in seven runs in the series. Blasingame hit .727 and scored eight times.
