A New Bird-Like Note in Aviation. An aluminum wind tunnel model of a strange bird-like airplane completed at Los Angeles, Calif., where its developers expect it to mark a new step forward in aerial navigation. The peculiar design of the new model is expected to cause it to duplicate the "thrust" of the real bird's feathers which enable them to sail directly into the wind without effort. Photo shows John M. Walters with the new model. In the full size airplane the "feathers" effect will be given it by stamped pieces of metal overlapping like the feathers themselves do on a bird.
