Ruch, 71-year-old baseball veteran, (left), whose retirement as president of the Philadelphia National League Baseball Club, was announced on November 7. At the right is Gerald P. Nugent, Business Manager of the club since 1925, who was elected as Ruch’s successor. Ruch, president since 1930 when he was called from retirement in Brooklyn, N.Y., has brought the Phillies from the National League Cellar to the first division.
