Negroes Shun Polls after Klan Demonstration--Johnson County white voters form a line in drizzling rain as they wait to vote in County Democratic Primary at courthouse here yesterday. In foreground is 15-foot charred cross which was burned the night before by Ku Klux Klan in a pre-election demonstration during which Pres. Truman’s civil rights program was sharply criticized by Dr. Samuel Green, Grand Dragon of the Georgia Klan. Only one negro showed up at the polls here yesterday, out of 240 qualified to vote--and he didn’t attempt to vote after being told he was registered.
