Assistant Queens District Attorney Barnard Patten sits in police station with four Negro youths arrested in the school yard rape of a 14-year-old white girl. Youths from left are Jacob Bethea, 16, John Rich, 16, Henry Stokes, 16, and Edward Jacobs, 17. All four are charged with rape. Two other Negro youths were arrested in the case. The victim, an eighth grader, was assaulted after attending a recreation program at the school. Her name was withheld by police.
