Handcuffed together, convicted murderers Emmet Perkins, (left) and jack santo, are shown being escorted from the Los Angeles jail to board a train for San Quentin prison. Perkins and santo were sentenced to die in the gas chamber for their part in the slaying of a wealthy widow, Mabel Monahan, for the purpose of robbing her of $100,000. A third co-defendant, Barbara graham, also convicted, received a temporary court reprieve. To hear her newly-appointed attorney in the case, before sentence is passed.
