Miss Hall of Fame by Seven Votes - Joe (Ducky) Medwick, former star outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, and Red Ruffing, the one-time Ney York Yankees pitcher, missed by just seven votes winning election to Baseball's Hall of Fame, the writers said today. Each drew 212 votes of the 219 needed. There will be a run-off election with the results to be made public next month, the writers said.
