Minot's Light. The most famous of all New England lighthouses, located one and half miles from shore, required over five years to build. The tower is of granite blocks rising to a height of 88 feet, and the lower half is solid all through. Above the solid portion are the apartments of five rooms, one above the other, and above all, the revolving light. The present structure was completed in 1860.
