Shirley Mae Bonner, 30, Denver, sits quietly in the Denver Police Building after coming in to report the mercy killing of her 19-month-old daughter, Carol. Mrs. Bonner said the child was suffering so much that she took 2 leather coats from the closet, threw them over the child and suffocated her. Carol suffered from birth a double hare lip, cleft palate, water on the brain, and a heart defect.
