Richard C. Carlson comforts his sister-in-law, Mrs. Shirley Carlson, on trial for the murder of her husband, Robert Carlson, 37, last 10/27/62. The 25-year-old defendant, accused of fatally shooting her husband while he slept, testified that her married life had been one of near slavery since her wedding day in Tijuana ten years ago. The mother of six also said she was subjected to brutal beatings during the stormy marriage.
