Roger Dedmond, 28, now serving a 18-year manslaughter conviction in the death of his wife, Annie Louise Dedmond, shown in family snapshot, may have a chance for new trial and freedom due to a call from the "Gaffney Strangler" to Gaffney newspaperman Bill Gibbons saying he had killed Mrs. Dedmond, whose nude and strangled body was found dumped on a lonely dirt road in nearby Union County last year. Authorities are now trying to link Lee Roy Martin, arrested as the "Gaffney Strangler," with the Dedmond slaying.
