Boston: Brockton housewives Mrs. Robert Adwin (L) and Mrs. Peter F. Pierce met 2/4 afternoon with Senate Ways and Means Chairman James Burke of Brockton (R) to protest tax increases. The two women presented Burke with a petition bearing 1,432 signatures protesting Gov. Francis Sargent's $143,000,000 tax bill. Also siting in on meeting was Senate President Maurice Donahue (2nd R).
