Maxine May Verrill, 16 Camelia Avenue, Cambridge, a senior at Cambridge City Hospital School of Nursing, is sworn into Women's Army Corps by Colonel Edwin M. Van Bibber, Chief of Massachusetts Military District. Private Verrill will receive Army pay and allowance while completing civilian schooling then will go on active duty as 2d Lt. in Army Nurse Corps. Only 250 nurses Army-wide are offered opportunity yearly.
