Military trials upheld

Mrs. Dorothy Krueger Smith, left, and Mrs. Clarice B. Covert are two wives of servicemen specifically affected by today's Supreme Court ruling which upheld military trials for civilians who accompany the armed forces overseas. Mrs. Smith was convicted by court martial in Tokyo for killing her husband, army Col. Aubrey D. Smith, in 1952. Mrs. Covert was convicted in England for the ax murder of her husband, Master Sgt. Edward E. Covert. Both received life imprisonment but Mrs. Covert later was released on a technicality reversal.
