Thirteen-year-old Maureen Wilton ran a 26-mile, 385 yard marathon race here 5/6, faster than any woman on record. The 140-[...] time was 3 hours, 15 minutes and 22.8 seconds and beat the previous record set by a New Zealand woman by more than four minutes. The record is unofficial as women are not officially permited to enter marathons and records for women's world records are not kept for distances longer than the mile.
