At a colorful ceremony held at the U. S. Navy Recruiting Station, Boston, Miss Maureen M. Wood was commissioned an Ensign in the U. S. Navy Nurse Corps. Ensign Wood daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wood of Revere is a graduate of the Catherine Labourne School of Nursing in Dorchester. She will attend Nurse Corps indoctrination course at Newport, R. I. and then join the staff of the Naval Medical Center at Bethesda, Maryland.
