Mighty Quake Rips Street Apart--This was the scene that confronted citizens of Anchorage, Alaska, a half hour after Good Friday's mighty earthquake brought ruin to a two-and-one-half block area on the north side of Fourth avenue. The buildings and part of the street were dropped some 10 feet below their former position. Many structures in other sections of the city were heavily damaged.
