Delta palmer, fourteen-year-old child bride of a thirty-eight year old negro, John Lee Menifield, yesterday emphatically declared that she did not want her marriage dissolved--that she loved her husband, and wanted to "be with him always." While authorities pondered on what legal steps to take to dissolve the child's marriage, her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Charles E, Palmer, and Menifield, were held in the city jail, charged with second degree perjury, in giving the girl's age as 18.
