Miami: Newsmap spots location of Hurricane Inez which roared through the eastern tip of Cuba, where the U.S. Guantanamo Naval Base is situated, with 138 mile an hour winds 9/30. Heavy rains are expected to continue in Cuba’s Oriente Province as Inez threatens the Bahamas Islands where gale winds are reaching. The hurricane’s center should be over Andreos Island 10/1. The chances the hurricane will seriously affect Florida are remote but it is not yet possible to issue an all-clear for the state.
