Mrs. Hauptman Said She Lied. Another dramatic incident enlivened the Hauptmann trial at Flemington, N.J., Jan. 18, when Mrs. Bruno Hauptmann accused Mrs. Ella Achenbach (photo) of lying on the witness stand. Mrs. Achenbach was saying: "Anna Hauptmann came to my porch and said we just got back from a trip..." When Mrs. Hauptmann jumped to her feet and cried out: "Mrs. Achenbach, you are lying!"
