Fifteen days have passed since Mary K. Mount, 10, vanished from the wealthy suburb of New Canaan, Conn. There have been no clues, no ransom demands. Police are baffled, the community distraught. Police chief Henry E. Keller, weary from lack of sleep, prowls the neighborhood in his car, peering through the predawn darkness in search of something -- anything -- he may have overlooked since little Mary disappeared 5/27.
