Washington -- Earl McFarland, 25-year-old ex-marine, handcuffed and manacled and guarded by U.S. Deputy Marshals, walks from Union Station here today to be returned to District of Columbia jail. He was recaptured Thursday by FBI agents at Knoxville, Tenn., after escaping from death row of District jail April 3, where he was sentenced to die for the rape-slaying of an 18-year-old government girl in Washington in 1944.
