While most women are concerned with the eye of a needle, Navy Lt. Judy Neuffer is more interested in the eye of a hurricane. Flying a weather patrol turbojet in the Navy's Hurricane Hunter, Judy became the first pilot of her sex to fly through the eye of a hurricane when she guided her plane through the eye of hurricane Carmen now over the Gulf of Mexico. She encountered winds up to 175 mph in the eye.
