[ca. October 1944]
Cayler and her all-girl orchestra arrive here for their engagement at Coral Gables on October 6th. The first local appearance of this glamorous, talented crowd that is skyrocketing fast into band prominence. Big favorites on morale assignments, Maestress Joy Cayler and her girls intersperse their dates with shows for service men and women at various camps, hospitals, canteens and wherever men and women in uniform are congregated. Joy is particularly happy when her girls are entertaining the men and women in the service of our country and will stop at nothing to see that they get the proper entertainment if she can help it. And the girls all look forward to those dates because they feel they are helping the boys and girls by bringing them the music and jive they like and go for, as they did in civilian life. For the boys this is sockeroo entertainment -- coming as it does from this all-girl - all-glamour - jive outfit.
