Robert Love, 15, sobs, "Save him, please save him," as firemen claw through sand attempting to reach his friend Joseph Cecil, 10, who was sucked through a hopper trapdoor 4/25. Robert, his brother Allan, (R), 9, and Joseph Cecil were playing on the sandpile at a construction material yard, when they discovered the trapdoor to the hopper. They opened it and the sand sucked Joseph into the hopper. Robert tried to hold him, but was almost pulled into the hopper. Allan broke down in tears when his friend was brought out dead.
