The study of the community from Runcu in the aspect of the health of the inhabitants was done by the health team coordinated by Dr. D.C. Georgescu. Anthropometric measurements, blood tests and medical consultations brought into question the endemic diseases in the area and their treatment possibilities. The image presents a patient of rickets. Photography during the excavations (June 29 - August 18, 1930) from Runcu, Gorj, village documented in 1486, located at the foothills of the Vâlcan Mountains in Sohodolului Gorge. Under the leadership of Professor Dimitrie Gusti (1880-1955, sociologist, academician, politician, initiator of the Sociological School from Bucharest) a team of 60 monographers has researched here methodically and analytically all the areas of his life - cosmological, biological, psychological, historical, economic, spiritual, politico-administrative. Following this campaign we defined the Romanian concepts about the theory and technique of sociological monography that were later known, appreciated and applied in European profile research.
