The Man Who Named the Cornhuskers -- Charles S. (Cy) Sherman, the man who put the tag of “Cornhuskers” on the Nebraska athletic teams, looks over a paper in the office of the Lincoln Star which he visits daily. He retired in 1946 after 31 years as sports editor of The Star. During that time Cy was almost a legendary character in Nebraska and national sports circles.
