Man removed from home after holding mother and sister hostage all day

Sharon police haul a man they identified as Barry Richardson, 23, from his Sharon home where armed with a butcher knife, he held his mother and sister hostage for 10 hours Friday. Police Chief Albert Horan said the man was "apparently mentally deranged." Two officers and the man's sister suffered cuts in the scuffle. The chief said the man was taken to a state hospital.
