Mailers are on the job at the New York Post here 9/17 as a chunky 112-page edition of the afternoon newspaper, nearly double the size of the usual Friday edition, rolls off the presses. The New York Post was the only local paper on newsstands here as the New York City Publishers' Association closed down six daily papers after a strike by editorial and clerical workers at a seventh. The New York Times, The New York Post is not a member of the Association.
