Nineteen-year-old Alice Corr of Selma, Ala., the 1953 Maid of Cotton, present Governor Herter with a sample of American cotton and an invitation to attend the Carnival of Cotton in Memphis, Tenn., on May 12. Miss Corr is the fashion and good-will ambassadress of the American cotton industry, having been selected from among several hundred Cotton Belt beauties.
