Lumber is her business

Patricia Chevarie, 22, of Pawtucket, R.I., drives a fork lift, in the yards of Diamond International of Pawtucket. Miss Chevarie, with a bachelor's degree from the University of Rhode Island, was offered a position in Diamond's managerial training program and began work sawing wood, loading lumber onto trucks with a fork lift, and making door-to-door lumber deliveries. "Customers' mouths would drop the first time they saw me unloading wood," she said.
